Not your typical jeans

Full disclosure: I took these pictures in 90 degree heat.

And I didn't even care.

These jeans are so cute, and this top is so bright, it didn't even matter that I was sweating and begging for ice water. I LOVE this outfit.

As I mentioned in my last post, I've been using Rent the Runway Unlimited, and I've been loving it. I would highly recommend checking it out. If you're someone who likes to change up your wardrobe quite often but also doesn't want your closet to keep growing, this is a really fun and exciting solution.

After going through their site, I saw these Jason Wu jeans and thought they were simply too cute to pass up. Wearing a pair of seamed jeans is cool because it adds flair to your outfit but still acts as a neutral. The seaming on this pair was really interesting, and finding a nice pair of long-lasting, well-fitting jeans generally equals a higher price tag. These jeans are no exception, but A) they live up to the hype, and B) renting them is a much more affordable option. Jacob even mentioned that he liked these jeans - if your husband comments on your denim, you know you're doing something right.

I decided to pair these high-waisted jeans with a top that nipped in at the waist, was a bright color, and was made of an interesting, spring-appropriate fabric. This J. Crew top was a perfect match. The other nice thing about pairing these two pieces together is the mixture of hard and soft - the masculinity of the seaming on the jeans is softened by the eyelet and draping of the top.

I paired my outfit with a pair of my own shoes which I bought last summer and am still wearing! The embroidery on the back of these shoes is so unique and makes these heels appropriate for daytime and evening. As well, the flowers subtly tie into the orange of the top.

Last but not least, I wore this GORGEOUS new necklace my husband bought me for our anniversary. We recently celebrated our first anniversary (hooray!) and my husband purchased this necklace for me from a jewelry designer named Keith Jack. It's double-sided, and I'm wearing the day side. The weaving of the necklace mimics the eyelet pattern of the top, and to be fair, this necklace matches pretty much anything.

Do you own a pair of seamed jeans? Would you try some? Let me know down below!
